'tis Time for a Monologue!
My name is Ninnie, but you may also see me use the names Hela or Xalja Runo, depending on what SoMe or site you see me at. I am an artist from the magical, non-existent place, known as Finland; a country sandwiched between Sweden and Russia.
Given that the internet is what it is, and mostly the sort of a clusterfuck as social media is (looking at you twitter...), I decided to create this website for me and my art.
It'll be a slow process to work on this marvel of enginering coding, as it has been a while since I have coded anything. I also have a day job that mostly takes up my time in such a way that I may or may not have the energy to do anything with my life, other than sleep.
But let’s give you guys some tidbit information about me!
I was born in the glorious year of 1990, so I do have some years under my belt already. I have a sister, two cats (Bono and Laku), and the loves of my life: two dogs, Akira and Zero.
I am what you could call an Old School shipper, meaning I am proship / profiction for life, and just can't wrap my head around the rise of antis in fandom spaces nowadays. It's all fiction, my dudes. Just, just calm down. I strongly believe that art should not be censored in any way.
Interests
My interests fluctuate a lot, depending on what catches my eye. At the moment of me writing this, I am a huge fan of Jujutsu Kaisen. There’s just something refreshing about that series, that I haven’t seen in other series as much. My OTP from this series is GoYuu. I also have a bunch of figurines I've collected. The funny thing is, my favorite character is Sukuna, yet I have mostly Gojo figurines, haha!
I also enjoy Haikyuu, even though I never truly finished the series in question, be it in the form of manga or the anime. My favorite characters are Kyoutani, Terushima and Hanamaki.
One Piece is one of my big favorites and I occasionally restart the series for fun, watching the story unfold again and again.
And of course, I wouldn’t be a true Finn unless I mentioned THE goat of a series that I absolutely 100% love to bits: Ginga Nagareboshi Gin aka Hopea Nuoli, aka Meteor Gin.
Other
I work in retail and honestly truly love it. Of course, it takes a lot of my time, and occasionally, I’m boo-boo the fool and accept work on my days off as well. I had to pick up this job, and put my full-time artist dream on hold, due to the death of my mother in March 2021.
If and when I draw, I do digital art. I use an OpenSource program called Krita.
I occasionally also stream on Twitch, playing the game Genshin Impact, or doing an art stream. I have also considered to stream on Picarto, or Pomf, depending on what kind or how much of a ‘problematic content’ I plan on drawing.
